One word for 2009

Welcome 2009.

For the last few years, I've chosen one word for the year. A word to focus on, a word to shape my efforts and push me along in a direction I'm hoping to go.

Last year my word was Believe. This year, my word is BREATHE. It's not too fancy, not too aspirational, but just what I need. Less chaos, less panic, more resilience, more mindful breathing.

I feel a bit guilty that my word isn't ambitious, but I think I'm exhausted by my own ambitious expectations. I'm now looking for a quiet patch and am hoping 2009 is the year for it. But honestly, 4 days in and it doesn't appear to be shaping up that way. Let's see how it unfolds.

''Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.'' Oprah

wishing you peace for the year ahead.

You can ramble, wine induced or not anytime you feel like it. I'm just impressed that you could spell serendipitious whilst drinking.

I hope you do take the time to breathe. Breathe great big deep breaths of fresh air, of your family, of the laughter of your children, of the sunshine and of a freshly opened bottle of wine.
